Sharp Technical was founded in Tamworth, Staffordshire, with a clear ambition: to deliver a higher standard of technical services, one that combines genuine expertise with personal accountability.

What began as a dedicated electrical contracting firm has grown into a multi-disciplinary team offering electrical services, mechanical, plumbing, construction and now solar & renewables. Every project, from a residential rewire to a £100 million training complex, is delivered with the same standard of workmanship.

Our Story

Sharp Technical Ltd, a company that has truly made its mark in the industry. Founded in 2015 by childhood friends Mark Phillips and Daniel Dawes in Tamworth, Staffordshire, Sharp Technical has grown from a small electrical contracting company into a trusted MEP and construction provider specialising in New Build Housing, Commercial and Social Housing sectors with a solid reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship.

Mark and Daniel, who both studied Electrical Installations at Tamworth College, reunited after gaining vast experience in their field to create a company with a family feel, an approachable team, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Today, Sharp Technical boasts over 30 employed and 20+ subcontracted experts who provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing multi-trade solutions across various industries nationwide.

Their dedication to excellence is evident in the projects completed over the past decade, including winning the electrical package for Tamworth College's new multi-million-pound campus, Leicester City FC's state-of-the-art training complex, delivering Kitchen & Bathroom and major Void streams across the Midlands, Bassetlaw and Northamptonshire respectively, and most recently being awarded one of Wavensmere Homes' flagship sites — Arkle Court, Cheltenham.

As the business grew organically, a Finance Director was appointed in Rachael Preedy, offering her expertise in the financial growth of the business, closely followed by the appointment of Andrew Jinks as Mechanical and New Build Director.

Managing Director

Mark Phillips

Mark co-founded Sharp Technical with a vision to deliver exceptional electrical and technical services across the UK. With a background in electrical installations, he leads the company's strategic direction and client relationships, ensuring every project reflects the Sharp Technical standard.

Operations Director

Daniel Dawes

Daniel co-founded Sharp Technical alongside Mark Phillips, and the two have grown the business from the ground up since 2015. As Operations Director, Daniel oversees the day-to-day running of the business across all five service divisions, ensuring every team has the resources, support, and direction to deliver at the highest level.

Finance Director

Rachael Preedy

Rachael oversees all financial operations at Sharp Technical, ensuring the business runs with the same precision and reliability it delivers to clients. Her strategic financial guidance has been instrumental in supporting the company's growth, including the launch of the Solar & Renewables division.

Mechanical & New Build Director

Andrew Jinks

Andrew joined Sharp Technical as Mechanical and New Build Director, bringing specialist expertise across mechanical services and residential new-build programmes. His appointment supports the company's continued expansion into new-build housing and complex mechanical projects nationwide.

Head of Solar & Renewables

Lee Scott

Lee leads Sharp Technical's Solar & Renewables division. Bringing specialist knowledge in solar panel installation and renewable energy systems, Lee is helping homeowners across the UK reduce energy costs and transition to cleaner, greener power.

Contracts Manager

Robert Cassidy

Robert oversees Sharp Technical's contract management, ensuring that client agreements, commercial terms, and project scopes are clearly defined and delivered. His meticulous approach provides both the company and its clients with clarity and confidence on every job.

Electrical Project Manager

Joel Haswell

Joel manages the delivery of Sharp Technical's electrical projects from inception to completion. With a hands-on approach and a strong focus on programme management, he ensures every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the Sharp Technical standard.

Oliver manages Sharp Technical's electrical teams, providing technical oversight and programme management to guarantee workmanship quality across all projects from commercial fit-outs to large-scale installations.

With years of experience in electrical contracting, Simon leads the technical delivery of Sharp Technical's electrical projects, from commercial fit-outs to large-scale educational and sporting installations.
